NOTE Author’s Note
This story is inspired by real events.
Some names and moments are softened, not to hide the truth, but to let it breathe.
This is not a love story that began with attraction. It began with conversations, patience, and choice.
CH 01 A Conversation That Wasn’t Planned
Aryan never believed life announces change loudly. Most turning points in his life had arrived quietly—through a file, a signature, a conversation that didn’t feel important at the time.
The CA office was familiar territory. Numbers made sense. Futures could be calculated.
The CA, someone Aryan trusted beyond professional limits, was discussing audits when the conversation slowly drifted—as it often does in Indian households.
“Shaadi ka kuch socha hai?”
Aryan smiled politely.
Then came the sentence that mattered.
“Ek ladki hai… achhi family hai. Milwana chahta hoon.”
Aryan didn’t rush. He didn’t reject the idea either. He said calmly, “Aap pehle Papa aur Maa se baat kijiye.”
That was all. He didn’t know then that this simple response had quietly opened a door.
CH 02 The First Visit, Without the Girl
A few days later, Aryan, his father, and the CA went to the girl’s house.
Dhavani’s home was a joint family setup—lived-in, noisy in a comforting way, honest. People didn’t perform happiness there. They simply lived it.
Tea was served quickly. Someone laughed loudly. Someone repeated a story twice.
But Dhavani was not present.
“She’s out,” someone said simply. “Kisi kaam se gayi hai.”
No apology. No awkwardness. Just reality.
Aryan didn’t feel disappointed. Instead, the visit became about families, not faces.
Dhavani’s parents were simple, innocent people—grounded, warm, and content with their life. They asked Aryan about work, routine, values. Aryan answered honestly. No exaggeration. No performance.
When they left, nothing was decided. But a thought had formed quietly in the girl’s family: Ladka theek lagta hai.
CH 03 Time and a Second Approach
Months passed. There was no hurry. No pressure.
Then Dhavani’s family approached Aryan’s father again. This time, they came to Aryan’s home.
The difference was clear immediately. This house was quieter. Structured. Responsibility sat here like a permanent guest.
After the formal conversation, someone said the expected line: “Bachche baat kar lein.”
CH 04 A Peaceful Room
Aryan took Dhavani to his bedroom—not for comfort, but privacy.
Dhavani sat quietly. Polite. Smart. Observant. She wasn’t nervous—just shy.
Aryan tried starting with simple questions. Career. Comfort. Expectations. Her answers were brief.
Then, instinctively, Aryan changed the approach.
He spoke about astrology—not predictions, but understanding nature. He spoke about her emotional depth. Her sensitivity. Her strength. And then her anger.
“Tum shaant lagti ho,” he said, “par jab gussa aata hai… dangerous hota hoga.”
Dhavani looked up. That was the moment she felt seen, not judged.
The meeting ended quietly. No promises. No excitement. Just ease.
CH 05 From Formality to Familiarity
Later, Dhavani asked for Aryan’s number. That mattered.
Calls started. Messages followed. FaceTime became natural.
They spoke normally—about work, routines, families. Dhavani told him honestly that she liked him.
Aryan responded with clarity, not romance.
“There are two issues,” he said. “Distance… and marriage will take at least two years.”
No sugarcoating.
Dhavani took time. Two years was not small. But honesty mattered more. She chose to continue.
CH 06 Waiting Has Weight
Waiting isn’t dramatic. It’s practical.
Relatives asked questions. Comparisons happened. Silence sometimes hurt.
Dhavani didn’t complain much. But when she did, she was honest.
“Main ruk rahi hoon,” she told Aryan once, “par main zid nahi karungi.”
“Main maturity show karungi. Har mahine ghar jaane ki baat nahi karungi. Main tumhe uncomfortable nahi karungi.”
Aryan was genuinely shocked. She was 21. Yet her thinking carried the steadiness of someone much older.
“Tum 21 ki ho,” he said honestly, “par baatein 28 jaisi lag rahi hain.”
Dhavani smiled softly.
“Mujhe relationship jeetna nahi hai,” she said. “Mujhe nibhaana hai.”
CH 07 Friend Before Anything Else
Dhavani supported Aryan—not as a girlfriend, not as a future wife. As a friend.
She understood his stress. His responsibilities. His silences.
She reassured instead of demanding. Aryan felt lighter with her. No pressure. No emotional bargaining. Just support.
CH 08 The Distance Concern
Aryan’s family liked everything—except distance.
“How far is her home?”
“Adjust kar paayegi?”
“Shaadi ke baad baar-baar jaana toh nahi hoga?”
These were concerns, not complaints. Aryan understood them. He didn’t argue. He listened.
CH 09 A Pause Without Rejection
There was an important family event at Aryan’s home. Relatives were visiting. Responsibilities demanded attention.
Aryan’s family spoke honestly to Dhavani’s family.
“Thoda time chahiye,” they said. “Event ke baad final baat karenge.”
It wasn’t a no. It wasn’t a yes. Just time.
Dhavani waited. Quietly. Patiently.
End of Part One
Some stories don’t pause because of doubt. They pause because timing demands respect. And this story pauses here.
